KILMONIVAIG PARISH, SPEAN BRIDGE

A beautiful setting on the banks of the Spean, the present building dates from 1812. The old graveyard is very interesting.

GLENGARRY PARISH, INVERGARRY
SUNDAY 12 noon (September to April)
SUNDAY 10am (May to August)
Set in the beautiful surroundings of hills and lochs, the church building was erected in 1864. Bonnie Prince Charlie made Invergarry his hiding place from the Hanoverian forces after Culloden in 1746.

KILMALLIE PARISH, ACHNACARRY
EVERY 4TH SUNDAY 3.00 p.m.
Kilmallie is the name given to land north of Loch Eil and west of the river Lochy. The lovely chapel of St. Ciaran hidden in the forest of Achnacarry near Spean Bridge is well worth a visit.

The main Parish Church of St. Margaret's is situated in the centre of Roy Bridge. St. Margaret contains a shrine to Blessed Mary McKillop whose father left Roy Bridge for Australia where she founded the Order of St. Joseph. It is hoped that she will soon become Australia's first Saint.

St. Joseph's in Spean Bridge is a modern building about 35 years old which sits on the banks of the Spean on the road to Corriechoille.

St. Finnan's at Invergarry is a beautiful little chapel which was completely renovated in 1999.

Cille Choirill is a beautiful, ancient church which occupies a commanding position over the River Spean, about 2 km east of Roy Bridge. It is well known and picturesque, but Masses only occur occasionally. For more information, see its entry in the Out & About section of this website.
